About Mole & Skin Tag Removal
This non-invasive procedure removes noticeable or uncomfortable moles and skin tags quickly and easily using a plasma pen.
Moles are brown or black spots on the skin formed by pigment-producing cells. Almost everyone has moles, with adults having between 10 and 40 moles on average.
Affecting around 50% of people at some point in their lives, skin tags are small, harmless growths hanging off the skin. They often appear in skin creases in the eyelids, neck, armpits or other areas of the body.
Large or conspicuous moles and skin tags can be removed if they are affecting your self-confidence. It’s also a good idea to have skin tags removed if they catch on clothing or jewellery.
At ADM Skin Clinic, we use a plasma pen to remove moles and skin tags quickly and effectively. The plasma pen is held above the skin and does not touch it at all during the procedure. The pen generates plasma energy that penetrates the skin’s outer layer, causing the mole or skin tag to fall off within a few days.
This method of mole and skin tag removal is completely safe. Plasma energy has a long history of safe use, having been used in medical procedures since the early 1900s.
There is no risk of bleeding or scarring, because the skin is not cut or stitched. The risk of an infection is minimal.
This procedure is virtually pain-free. The sensation of the plasma energy has been compared with an elastic band flicking the skin gently. You may feel some warmth on your skin, but it won’t feel uncomfortable.
It takes 20 to 30 minutes to remove one mole or skin tag.
The result is permanent, and, in most cases, no further treatment is needed. In rare cases, a second treatment may be required to remove a very large mole or skin tag completely.
The healing process takes between 3 and 10 days. During that time, there will be a scab on your skin’s surface. Keep the affected area clean and dry. Apply aloe vera gel to prevent irritation and speed up healing. The scab will become darker and fall off by itself in a few days.
The procedure doesn’t leave any scars. After healing, the skin is smooth and flat with the same appearance and colour as the surrounding skin.
Mole or skin tag removal using a plasma pen is suitable for most men and women of all ages. However, the procedure is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It’s also not suitable if you have any of the following medical conditions:
- diabetes
- active herpes simplex
- lupus
- liver or kidney disease

- HIV or AIDS
- cancer
- hyperpigmentation or risk of hyperpigmentation
