What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are small gel injections, a form of hyaluronic acid made up of various types of collagens. Collagen is a major structural skin protein that promotes strong, firm and flexible texture.

How do Dermal Fillers work?

Young skin is constantly moisturised from within by hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar which absorbs moisture, regulates and repairs cell growth and keeps skin well hydrated for a youthful look. Dermal fillers counter the natural loss of hyaluronic acid and collagens that occurs with age, plumping and repairing the skin by literally filling out the void that causes each wrinkle.

How long do the effects of Dermal Filler treatment last?

Do Dermal Fillers hurt?

Are there any side-effects of Dermal Fillers?

These products emulate natural substances in the body so side-effects are very rare. As with any injection procedure, a temporary burning sensation, bruising or swelling can occur. In very rare cases, other side-effects may include lumps under the skin at the injected area, this lumpiness should subside within a few weeks.

Can I be allergic to Dermal Fillers?

It is possible to be allergic to dermal fillers, but you will be tested during the consultation process. Highlighting any allergies or medical conditions that may have contraindications to treatment, you will be advised accordingly before the treatment takes place.
