Carboxytherapy (or CO2 Therapy) is a safe, non-invasive cosmetic procedure which can help minimise the appearance of under-eye circles, wrinkles and scars.

About Carboxytherapy

Carboxytherapy was created as a medical treatment and has been used since the beginning of the 20th century for the treatment of burn wounds and ulcers. It can assist with the skins natural healing process and has many other benefits. Today, it is becoming a popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure, mainly used to help maintain a younger-looking, smoother, firmer and brighter skin.

What can Carboxytherapy treat?

Fat reduction

Injecting the CO2 deep into the cell tissue can assist with the break up of fat cells which are then removed via the body’s natural elimination process. Carboxytherapy can help treat hard-to-reach pockets of fat, e.g. under the chin or around the hips.

Stretch marks and other Scars

Injecting CO2 into the scar tissue can result in the production of collagen, making the scarring less visible. Results could be seen in most cases of stretch marks, but is best used to treat new ones. Carboxytherapy can also be used to treat other scars, such as those caused by acne, surgery or burns.

Cellulite

Carboxytherapy can improve skin texture of cellulite-affected areas. It can assist skin with creating more collagen fibre, thus improving skin firmness. The treatment can also increase circulation and lymph drainage which results in smoother, younger-looking skin.

Skin firming and rejuvenation

Apart from assisting with an increase in collagen production, carboxytherapy can also help in firming up wrinkles and rejuvenating tired-looking skin.

How many sessions of Carboxytherapy are required?

Initially a course of 6 sessions, one each week, is recommended and then a monthly session to maintain the youthful appearance of the skin, depending on the area of treatment.

When will I see results?

Results can often be visible after the 4th or 5th session, depending on the affected area. However, it can take up to 6 months to notice a significant change. The reason for this is that our bodies take time to lay down the collagen fibres and create a new capillary system in the affected area. Monthly maintenance is essential. (Individual results may vary.)

Is Carboxytherapy treatment painful?

Carboxytherapy is virtually painless, the only sensations you will feel include a slight sting and a throbbing sensation that will last for just a few minutes.

Are there any side effects?

After treatment, the area can be slightly red and inflamed as your body flushes the area with blood and oxygen, some minor bruising might also form. Both the inflammation and the bruising should disappear within 24 hours.
